Activities’2011 :-
Quiz Bowl
Quiz bowl is a family of games of questions and answers on all topics of human knowledge that is commonly played by students enrolled in college. Though any student may audition to join a team, quiz bowl also is recommended as an enrichment activity for gifted and talented students. Participants may benefit from studying a broad range of academic subjects, increasing memorization and study skills, learning to work in teams and expanding capacity for responsibility.
Quiz bowl is also known by various other names, such as Academic Bowl, Academic Challenge, Academic League, Academic Team, Battle of the Brains, Brain Bowl, Brain Game, College Bowl, It's Academic, Knowledge Bowl, Scholar Quiz Bowl, Scholastic Bowl, and Scholar's Bowl.
Most of the questions were on all general subjects, including literature; history; science and math; social sciences; fine arts; geography; religion, mythology, and philosophy; ,sports and general knowledge. Questions are asked on topics such as popular culture to a lesser extent and are referred to as "Trash."
Subjects in "Trash" games are generally considered to include current events, sports, pop culture, and some parts of the general knowledge catch-all. Much of traditional non-academic trivia falls under this heading.
Winners got trophy with cash prizes.
Industrial visit
Industrial visit is a part of the engineering course, during which students visit companies, power plants and get insight of on their internal working environment.
The industrial visit also provides an insight on how companies/power plants work and also useful information related to the practical aspects of the course which cannot be visualized in lectures.
Every student is required to undergo Industrial visits starting from the third semester of the programme. Faculties take the students at least for one industrial visit in a semester.
Our students undertake industrial visits to various industries and firms like Thermal power plant, khedar, Hisar and vita milk plant etc. These industrial visit are organized as a part of curriculum and also to open up a wide scope of opportunities for the students passing out from our institutions.
Seminars :
Seminars are conducted periodically by the various faculties of our colleges. In addition to these seminars, special seminars are also organized with the participation of technical experts from renowned concepts .like Dr. S Pahuja, NIT Kurukshetra, deleivered expert lecture on advanced research on microcontroller & processor etc.
Sports
Imbibing the sportsman spirit:-Fitness and recreation is made a part of daily routine. Outdoor sports and indoor games that include a wide variety are a regular feature.
Placement Cell
Placing on the path to success:-Students are backed by a placement cell which is run by professionals with commendable work experience in Industry. This cell is active in interfacing the students with the Industry by way of arranging Campus Recruitment Programs. The training wing of the cell also arranges industrial and summer training of the students and conducting various grooming programmes for the students.
Cultural Cell
The cultural cell encourages students to participate in various cultural and co-curricular activities. This gives the students an outlet to express their creative side. Annual funfair is a well known activity when all the students come together and enjoy some relaxed moments.
